UNITED WORLD COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS 2009-2011

Note to Applicants

“UWC makes education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future. ” - UWC Mission Statement

Applicants must:

  • be between 16 and 18 years of age in September of the year in which the application is made (2009);
  • be at least CXC standard (fifth form or lower sixth form);
  • have an outstanding academic record (at least a ‘B’ average);
  • have a history of involvement in extra-curricular and community activities;
  • have a sense of social awareness, and cheerful, outgoing personalities;

We encourage students to consider this carefully, as only students who fulfill these requirements will be successful. The International Baccalaureate Course and college life require this level of education and commitment. A confidential letter or recommendation from the school’s principal or guidance counsellor should accompany all applications. Official transcripts are also required.

Applicants will be judged initially on the above stated criteria and a Selection Committee will invite a limited number of applicants for a personal interview.
